About Us

We’re Matthew and Naomi, the people behind Grazed by the Tyne.

Matthew grew up in the Tyne Valley and, although not from a farming background, developed a passion for livestock and the pastoral landscape around him. He studied veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College and now works locally as a farm vet. Alongside his studies and career, he has built and maintained the flock of sheep and herd we farm today.

Naomi studied History at the University of Oxford before a stint working in London for Pasta Evangelists. A return home to Northumberland — and a shared love of the countryside — brought Matthew and Naomi together.

Today we are growing our small herd of cows and continue to graze them alongside a small flock of Shetland sheep and are expanding into offering conservation grazing services as well.
